STRETCH

It is very important that you stretch both your shoulders and your legs before snapping.

PASS DRILL

This is a great drill to get stretched out.

For this drill, all you are going to do is to pass the ball to someone else. Just like you are playing catch. This will help you get stretched out and loose.

UNDER HAND TOSS

This drill is a little more difficult, and will require practice at it. All you have to do is to grab the football, as if you are going to pass it normally. Next, you will throw the football like you are pitching a softball. Once you get used to it, you will feel comfortable, and it will help you stretch out.

10/15 YARD SNAPS

Distance your self 10 yards from your partner and snap the ball. As soon as you feel comfortable, move back to 15 yards, and do the same as you did when you were at 10 yards.

GOAL POST DRILL

This is a tremendous drill. It will definitely help with accuracy.

1. Begin by lining up about 12 yards from the goal post.
2. Try to hit the goal post. Try to make a competition of this. Do 10-15 reps.
3. See how many times you can hit it in a row.
4. After you have done this for a while, try not to look at the post, and just snap. Again, keep track of how many times you hit the post.

SHOULDER PAD SNAPPING

Once you feel comfortable and ready, you should put on your shoulder pads and snap. It will feel weird at first, but you will get used to it. This will help you simulate game conditions.

SNAPPING DRILL

The best thing you can do is to just snap the ball. Find a friend, or the kicker/punter on your team, and snap to him/her as much as possible. Practice makes perfect!

"Coach McCabe, I wanted to thank you and Coach Jeff Dellenbach, for all the coaching, teaching, and guidance that [our son] received from your weekly camp...he knew that your camp was the camp that would teach and help him get into a D1 football program. Once he starting attending your camp, practicing weekly with your help, the offers and opportunities to Long Snap at a D1 football program began to come in from across the country...your program is definetly the one that has the mechanizism to open the eyes of the college recruiters. I would highly recommend your camp to any student-athlete who wants to be a Kicker or Longsnapper at the college level. Again, thank you and your staff for all your help."
